Les first became involved in youth football administration in 2006 as Secretary of Brislington U18s, before stepping up to become Vice Chairman of the then Somerset Floodlight Youth League. In 2009 he was elected Chairman, a role he has proudly held ever since.

Under his leadership, the league has grown from modest beginnings into today’s Western Counties Floodlight Youth League, a well-established competition covering four counties and four divisions. Les has been instrumental in shaping the league’s focus on player development, providing young footballers with the chance to compete under floodlights and progress into senior football.

He has overseen the introduction of the Roger Stone Memorial Cup in honour of the league’s first Chairman, championed strong administration, and supported the committee in driving digital transformation of league processes.

With nearly two decades of dedicated service, Les continues to ensure the league is run to a high standard, creating the right environment for players, clubs and officials to thrive.
