Colin has been involved with football for nearly 70 years, when as a teenager sixty eight years from the age of 14 when he and a group of boys from Wellington used to congregate on a local green every week to have a kick about. They wanted to play competitive football, unfortunately at the time Wellington AFC did not have a youth team. So Colin and two others found out when the local youth league had their AGM and caught the bus into Taunton one evening and gate crashed the AGM. They let them into the league and as a result Wellington AFC took them under their wing and Colin have been involved ever since.

Through the years Colin has served on several committees including the Taunton Youth League, Tiverton Youth League and Somerset Youth League as a treasurer and Welfare officer.
