The League has successfully concluded a challenging but rewarding season, with all fixtures completed before the end of the campaign. “Next season we plan to provide more away matches to clubs with 4G pitches early on to ensure a balanced season if the weather is as wet as the one just ended.”
Premier Division
Portishead Town have been crowned Premier Division Champions, with Hallen finishing as runners‑up after a tightly contested title race. Taunton Town and Mangotsfield United remained close contenders throughout, and notably, “in the top four club – two have 4G pitches.”
North Division
In what was described as “one of the most competitive in the history of the League,” Yate Town secured promotion to the Premier Division, finishing just ahead of Almondsbury, who take the runners‑up position.
Central Division
A fierce season‑long battle between Hengrove and Bristol Manor Farm saw Hengrove ultimately claim promotion. The two sides were “neck and neck for most of the season,” highlighting the intensity of the division.
South Division
Tiverton Town dominated the South Division despite early‑season pitch issues, with Street finishing runners‑up. Tiverton’s resilience paid off as they secured promotion to the Premier Division.
Relegation
Unfortunately, three clubs exit the Premier Division this season: Weston‑super‑Mare, Bishops Lydeard, and Longwell Green Sports.,
Roger Stone Memorial Cup Final
A thrilling final at Paulton Town’s Winterfield Stadium saw Tiverton defeat Longwell Green Sports 3–1, “delivering a feast of football.”
Closing Remarks
The League extends its appreciation to all participating clubs: “Congratulations to all 36 clubs who have competed this year and who have contributed to a successful season both on and off the pitch.” Five new clubs have been accepted by the Management Committee for next season, pending approval at the AGM on 20 May.
