The season has begun with great competition among clubs in true professional style.
Reading Time: < 1 minuteThis season is going to be brilliant with new clubs challenging for Divisional titles already.
The season has started in familiar fashion with the Preliminary Round of the Roger Stone Cup producing some big scores with newcomers Sherborne Town overcoming Oldland Abbotonians and Clevedon Town at home powering over the Cheese boys.
Winners of this round face difficult ties in the First Round with Clevedon Town hosting Tiverton Town (both in the Premier Division); Almondsbury away to Keynsham Town: Paulton Rovers hosting Wells City and new boys Sherborne Town hosting Wellington, both from Division South. These last two clubs have clashed already in the league with a 4-4 draw. It will be interesting to see if the coaches have gained any tactics from the opposition by this encounter.
Round 1 of the cup will be played week commencing 12th October. To view these fixtures on Full-Time, either click onto the FIXTURES or, go to HOME and Cup/Competition. For a better image and presentation see them exhibited on our website here.
The stand out result so far in league matches has been the great start new boys Larkhall Athletic have made. Other new boys Thornbury Town, Avonmouth and Ilminster Town have made cautious starts but expect to see them hold their own in the divisions.
We unfortunately lost Shepton Mallet this season due to their inability to recruit sufficient players. The League have ensured the other clubs in the division do not lose fixtures by creating a small cup.
