This has been a great two weeks for a feast of football that reflects the quality of the League. Tiverton Town are through to the FA Youth Cup 1st Round Proper hosting Newport County of EFL League 2 on Tuesday 4th November (ko 7.30pm). What an achievement and our best wishes go with them.

Eight clubs are through to the Quarter finals of the Roger Stone Memorial League Cup. There has been a lot of distance travelled: Keynsham Town beat Taunton Town and Longwell Green Sports beat Willand Rovers both on penalties. Elsewhere Hallen recorded a home win over Clevedon Town as did Paulton Rovers over Cheddar and Odd Down over Hengrove. Axminster Town were forced to postpone their match last week against Portishead Town due to the weather. It was touch and go again on Wednesday, but the match did take place with Portishead Town the victors. The standard of football is very high with clubs in the lower divisions overcoming Premier Division clubs and 40 goals scored in the seven matches.

The draw for the Quarter Finals takes place at the next meeting of the Management Committee in the middle of November when a number of intriguing encounters seem sure to take place looking at those clubs still in. The full list is Hallen, Keynsham Town, Longwell Green Sports, Odd Down, Paulton Rovers, Yate Town, Portishead, Tiverton Town v Bishops Lydeard postponed to 13/11/25 because of FA Youth Cup next Monday.

The Cup Final is scheduled to be hosted by Paulton Rovers on Thursday 16th April KO 7.30pm

In the League programme there are signs of early leaders where Odd Down and Taunton Town (newly promoted) are shoulder to shoulder at the top of the Premier Division. In Division North, Brislington are the early leaders with Yate Town poised to make a challenge and in Division Central at least three clubs are making the early running. Willand Rovers (new boys) in Division South just have their noses in front of the pack. It looks like a great battle is beginning.
