Briz continue their winning start to the North Division campaign, coming from behind to beat Almondsbury 2–1 in an entertaining encounter.
Brislington U18 maintained their perfect start to the Western Counties Floodlight Youth League North Division campaign with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Almondsbury, overturning a first-half deficit through goals from Ashley Smith and Will Hatwood.
The opening exchanges set the tone for an entertaining contest, with both sides creating opportunities and the woodwork coming into play at either end. Brislington struck the crossbar after just six minutes, before Almondsbury's Jacob Best responded almost immediately with a free kick that also rattled the bar.
The visitors continued to threaten, and Brislington goalkeeper Freddie Davey was called upon to produce an excellent save in the 19th minute. Toby Kellett beat his marker down the right and fired the ball across goal, where Toby Lovejoy managed to get a touch from close range, only for Davey to react sharply and turn the effort away.
Almondsbury went close again seven minutes later when Mate Kokas picked out Kellett with an excellent cross-field pass. The forward created enough space to get his shot away, beating the goalkeeper but seeing his effort rebound off the post.
Having twice been denied by the woodwork, Almondsbury finally made the breakthrough in the 29th minute. Lorenzo Rosa won two challenges in midfield before finding Kellett, who took a couple of touches and unleashed a superb strike from 25 yards into the top corner.
Brislington responded with a tactical reshuffle and began to apply greater pressure as the half progressed. Their persistence was rewarded in the 43rd minute when a short corner routine saw the ball worked to Ashley Smith on the edge of the penalty area. His shot found its way through a crowd of players and into the bottom corner to restore parity just before the interval.
The sides went into the break level at 1–1 following an absorbing first half in which both had enjoyed spells of attacking pressure.

Brislington made a change at half-time, introducing Courtney Pinnock in place of Smith, who had been cautioned earlier in the contest.
The second half continued in competitive fashion, with Brislington increasingly taking the initiative and enjoying more of the attacking opportunities. Almondsbury's goalkeeper was called upon to make several important saves as the hosts searched for a second goal.
As the match progressed, the contest became more physical, with a number of cautions issued as both sides battled for control.
The decisive moment arrived around the 75th minute following a sustained period of Brislington pressure. Frankie Chillcott delivered an inviting corner into the penalty area, where Will Hatwood timed his run to perfection, getting ahead of his marker to power a header into the top corner and give the hosts a 2–1 advantage.
Almondsbury still had time to respond, but Brislington held firm in increasingly difficult weather conditions to see out the remaining minutes and secure all three points.
While Brislington's second-half pressure ultimately proved decisive, Almondsbury had contributed significantly to an entertaining encounter, particularly during a first half in which they twice struck the woodwork and created several clear opportunities.
Davey's performance in the Brislington goal was also a notable feature of the evening, with Almondsbury themselves acknowledging his contribution after the final whistle.
The result preserves Brislington's 100% winning record in the North Division, although the narrow scoreline reflected a competitive contest between two sides who both enjoyed opportunities to influence the outcome.
